Why do people in Himachal live longer than Punjabis and Haryanvis?

People in Himachal Pradesh live longer than those in neighbouring Punjab and Haryana, with a life expectancy at birth of 74.7 years, second only to Kerala's 75.6 years, according to the SRS-Based Abridged Life Tables 2020-24. Experts attribute this to better healthcare access, lower infant mortality and road accident deaths, higher literacy, greater health awareness, and lower poverty levels.
