Why has Iran delayed Ayatollah Khamenei's funeral by over 100 days?

Iran on Saturday announced new dates for Ayatollah Khamenei's burial and funeral. The state funeral, initially set for March 4, was delayed due to the war. Tehran later planned a three-day funeral in early Muharram, but Mayor Alireza Zakani said it has been postponed until after first 10 days of Muharram to allow mourning for revered Shia leader Imam Hussein.
