Why has Ishan Kishan not been given annual contract by BCCI?

Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has been excluded from BCCI's central contracts list despite being part of India's T20 World Cup 2026 squad, as he did not meet the eligibility criteria. Kishan will automatically qualify for a central contract if he plays three Tests, 10 T20Is or eight ODIs during the assessment window from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026.
