Why has one WB family worshipped only Goddess Durga's face for 450 yrs?

The Ray family in Gomai village of West Bengal's Ketugram has worshipped only Goddess Durga's face instead of a complete idol for around 450 years. According to local legends, the tradition began after the idol broke and the family's ancestor, Gobinda Ray, received divine instructions in a dream. On the day of immersion, the face is carried around the village.
