Why is 'ism' linked with Hinduism and not Islam or Christianity: BJP's Sudhanshu Trivedi

BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi asked why 'ism' term is associated only with religions originating from India, like Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. "You [may] have never heard of Islamism and Christianism...The 'ism' world is associated just to demean," he said at 'The Debate 2026' hosted by the Calcutta Club. He said that when one cherishes Hinduism, it is called Hindutva.
