Why is 'Veer Baal Diwas' celebrated on December 26?

Veer Baal Diwas is observed on December 26 to commemorate the bravery and martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh's youngest sons Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh. It honours their supreme sacrifice at the age of 9 and 6 on December 26, 1705, as they chose to uphold their Sikh faith, refusing to renounce it even under extreme duress, government said.
