India ordered an investigation of Amazon and Flipkart over alleged violations of competition law. A trader body alleged many of their preferred sellers were affiliated with or controlled by the firms either directly or indirectly. The probe will cover four alleged anti-competitive practices - exclusive launch of phones, promoting preferred sellers, deep discounting and promotion of private labels.
