Why is malpua traditionally offered to Maa Kushmanda?

On the fourth day of Navratri, Goddess Kushmanda, the fourth form of Goddess Durga, is worshipped and offered Malpua as sacred bhog (prasad). The traditional sweet dish is prepared with flour, milk and sugar, cooked in ghee and served plain or with sugar syrup. Malpua is considered the goddess’s favourite offering, believed to bring health, wealth and prosperity to devotees.
