Why is Myanmar President's India visit significant?

Myanmar Junta chief-turned-President Min Aung Hlaing's visit to India is significant as Myanmar seeks to emerge from years of diplomatic isolation following its 2021 coup, and India seeks to boost ties with its neighbour to counterbalance China's growing influence. The cooperation would also enhance security along the northeastern borders and help secure access to Myanmar's critical rare earths.
