Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) will be renamed Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS). Experts said many patients diagnosed with the condition do not actually have ovarian cysts, despite the current name suggesting otherwise. They added that the disorder involves hormonal imbalance and metabolic dysfunction affecting multiple body systems and that the old name delayed diagnosis.
