Why is Ravana's death mourned in UP's Bisrakh village?

In Bisrakh, a village in Uttar Pradesh believed to be Ravana's birthplace, his death is mourned because villagers consider themselves his descendants, Times Now reported. While the rest of India burns effigies of Ravana, the villagers conduct prayer rituals for his soul, valuing his knowledge and devotion to Lord Shiva. However, they also pray to Lord Ram as a god.
