Why is Santa Claus part of Christmas celebrations?
Saint Nicholas, also known as Santa Claus, was born in Türkiye around 300 AD, and was famous for helping the needy. His image's transformation to Santa Claus happened after the publication of 'A Visit from Saint Nicholas' in 1823. In the late 19th century, celebrated cartoonist Thomas Nast's illustrations popularised him as a man delivering gifts on Christmas Eve.
