The BSE Sensex and the Nifty 50 witnessed sharp losses in early trade on Tuesday. Selling in IT stocks weighed heavily after fresh global concerns over AI-led disruption resurfaced, said MoneyControl. Rupee also declined by 7 paise to 90.96 against US dollar, weighed down by higher global crude prices and stronger dollar. Weak global cues also contributed to the fall.
