Why is Vikram-1 carrying lab-grown diamond & an 18-karat gold micro-rocket to space?

Vikram-1, India's first private orbital rocket, is carrying two symbolic payloads on its maiden test flight on Saturday. It's carrying 'Cosmic Bloom', a floral-shaped artwork made with lab-grown diamond, which will be sent to space as an artistic payload. It's also carrying an 18-karat gold micro-rocket, which features microscopic sculptures of CV Raman, Vikram Sarabhai and APJ Abdul Kalam.
