Why limit women? Provide security: SC on Bengal's 'no night shift for women' notice

The Supreme Court, led by CJI DY Chandrachud, has criticised a West Bengal government notification that says state-run hospitals would avoid allotting night shifts to women doctors. "How can you say women cannot work at night? Why limit women doctors?" the CJI said. "Your duty is to provide security, you cannot say that women cannot work at night," he added.
