Transgender activist Gauri Sawant, reacting to conversation on social media around transgender actors not being considered for her role in 'Taali', said, "Why should a transgender play role of transgender?" "People should consider us for other roles," she said, adding, "I did an [ad] where I played...a mother, and people accepted me...Why should [we] be restricted to just...transgender roles?"
