Why should a woman be ashamed of her face?: Javed Akhtar on burqa

Screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar, while talking about women covering their face with burqa, asked, "Why should a woman be ashamed of her face?" He stated women wear burqa due to "peer pressure" and social approval and long-standing norms play a decisive role. Javed made the remarks at the third edition of the SOA Literary Festival in November.
