Why Tamim Iqbal turned down a Champions Trophy recall to retire

Bangladesh's top runscorer in ODIs, Tamim Iqbal, retired from international cricket. Tamim clarified that he decided to retire as he didn't want any focus on himself ahead of Champions Trophy 2025. Tamim also pointed to his World Cup squad omission as part of the motivation for retirement: "What happened before the 2023 World Cup, was a big shock for me."
