Why the Ethereum Foundation is locking up record millions in ETH?

The Ethereum Foundation staked a record 22,517 ETH (approx. $46M) on the Beacon Chain, marking its largest move since shifting strategy in 2025. This is part of a plan to stake 70,000 ETH to secure the network and fund R&D through the returns. The Foundation still holds $302M in its treasury.
