UAE demanded that Pakistan repay a nearly $3.5 billion loan amid growing "frustration" with Pakistan over its deepening ties with Saudi Arabia, Financial Times reported. "Pakistan's role as mediator in [US-Iran war] also annoyed the Gulf state," analyst Neil Quilliam said. Moreover, UAE has forged closer ties with India and is "more invested" in it, the report added.
