Why was RCB's Jitesh Sharma not given mankad out despite being out of the crease?

RCB's Jitesh Sharma was declared not out despite being out of crease after LSG spinner Digvesh Rathi attempted to 'mankad' him. As per MCC, "Non-striker can be run out if he's out of his ground up until...moment....bowler would normally have been expected to release...ball...Bowler isn't entitled to go all...way around in...action and then run...non-striker out." Rishabh Pant also withdrew appeal.
