Why will Apple's first foldable iPhone not have Face ID?

Apple's first foldable iPhone, reportedly called the 'iPhone Ultra', may miss Face ID. Reports suggest the foldable model may abandon the technology because its ultra-thin 4.5-mm body could leave insufficient space for the TrueDepth camera system required for facial recognition. Apple could instead place a fingerprint sensor inside the power button for users to unlock the phone.
