Why will today's total solar eclipse not be visible in India?

The total solar eclipse today will not be visible in India as it does not fall in the 'path of totality'. During an eclipse, the Moon block the Sun's light and casts a shadow on part of the Earth, which creates the 'path of totality' trail as Earth rotates. Parts of North America are in the path of totality today.
