Wildfire cuts Greece's second-largest island in half, 1,400 rescued; pics surface

Wildfires continued across Greece on Saturday, with one cutting a line across Evia, the country's second-largest island, isolating its northern part. Firefighters fought through the night to save a town of 7,000 residents in northern Evia using bulldozers to open up clear paths in the forest, reports said. The fire on Evia forced the evacuation of about 1,400 people.
