Will Constitution not help devotees barred from touching deity: SC

Supreme Court asked Sabarimala Temple's chief priest on Tuesday if the Constitution should not help devotees barred from touching a deity. Justice Amanullah said, "I'm told because of...a lineage, permanently you're not allowed to touch the deity. Will Constitution not come to the rescue?" This came after the priest stated a devotee "has to accept essential characteristics of the deity".
