Will help Taliban fight ISIS in Afghanistan, says Russia

Former Russian ambassador to Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, said Russia will help Taliban authorities fight against the Afghan branch of Islamic State. He referred to Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K) as the common enemy of Moscow and Kabul. Currently, no country recognises Taliban government, which seized power in August 2021 after US-led forces withdrew from Afghanistan following 20 years of war.
