Will implement UCC, take action on love jihad: CM Sarma before Assam polls

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the BJP government will implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), excluding areas under the Sixth Schedule and those inhabited by Scheduled Tribes. He also said the government will take stronger steps against "love jihad". His remarks came as the party released its manifesto for the Assembly polls scheduled to be held on April 9.
