Will lead to tax terrorism: Pai on different tax rates on popcorn

Businessman Mohandas Pai criticised the GST Council for announcing different tax rates for salted and caramel popcorn. "This is silly and complex. [This] will lead to tax terrorism," Pai said. "Citizens are becoming victims of bad policy which will make them hostages to rent-seeking officials and create disputes," he stated, tagging PM Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
