Will remove AFSPA from most Northeast states in 2027: Amit Shah

Union Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) will be removed from all of the Northeast except for one or two states. Shah said this while speaking at the signing of an MoU between the Central government, Assam, and Nagaland. He further said that fewer regions under AFSPA indicate peace in the region.
