Williams carried Ganesha idol, Gita, Samosas to space

Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams carried an idol of Lord Ganesha, a copy of the Bhagavad Gita, and a box of samosas with her on expeditions to outer space. She also carried a copy of the Hindu scripture Upanishads during her second venture into space in 2013. “It’s a reminder of who I am and where I belong,” the astronaut said.
