Wind from Milky Way’s black hole discovered after 5 decades
Astronomers have, after five decades of attempts, discovered a wind from the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way, as per a study in the Astrophysical Journal Letters. Using Chile-based ALMA and NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, they studied Sagittarius A*. They found a hot, conical cavity suggesting a gentle wind shaping the surrounding gas.
