Wives, children, parents can seek maintenance: Adv Deepak Somani

From 1st July, 2024, wives can seek maintenance from husbands, children can seek maintenance from their parents, and parents can seek from children, under Section 144 of Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita. Presently maintenance is granted under section 125 of the code of criminal procedure, 1973, told the lawyer in a recent reel on his Instagram page layman_to_lawman.
