Woman dies after eating biryani at restaurant, 178 others hospitalised in Thrissur

A 56-year-old woman died and 178 others were hospitalised after eating a biryani dish at a restaurant in Kerala's Thrissur, officials said. The diners had consumed Kuzhimanthi (Yemeni-inspired dish) at the restaurant and it was sealed after the mass food poisoning incident. Mayonnaise served with the dish is suspected to have caused the food poisoning, officials added.
