Woman held for trafficking at Ranchi airport, ‘bought child’ for ₹22,000

A Mumbai-based woman was arrested at Ranchi airport on the way to taking a flight back home for allegedly trafficking a newborn child, police said. The 36-year-old accused woman came to Ranchi on January 11 and allegedly “bought” a three-day-old boy from a family there. The woman purportedly gave the family ₹22,000, police said.
