Woman uses Claude as personal diary, gets arrested after describing shooting plans

A woman in Florida was arrested after chats with Claude revealed her alleged plans to attack a sheriff's office, according to local reports. The woman, who was using the AI chatbot as a personal diary, wrote, "I'm going to shoot up the sheriff's right now." She also mentioned buying a gun, following which Anthropic staff alerted law enforcement.
