Woman who left UK to join IS loses appeal over citizenship removal

Shamima Begum, the UK-born woman who left the country and went to Syria as a schoolgirl to join Islamic State (IS) in 2015, lost her latest appeal on Friday over the removal of her British citizenship. Begum's citizenship had been revoked on national security grounds in 2019, shortly after she was found in a detention camp in Syria.
