Woman who suffocated from Manipur Police's tear gas loses baby

A 34-year-old pregnant woman, who suffered asphyxiation from tear gas shells fired by police during a protest in Manipur's Imphal, has suffered a miscarriage. Laishram Ningol Sanjita Devi was in the eighth month of her pregnancy. She is now on ventilator support. Holding police responsible for the incident, an angry mob deposited the body of the foetus to police station.
