Woman wins ₹1.2 lakh after insurer denies claim over toenail injury

A 62-year-old woman has won a consumer case against her travel insurer after it refused to cover medical expenses for a toenail injury during her US trip. A consumer commission directed the insurer to pay her ₹1.2 lakh, including medical expenses, compensation and litigation costs. The commission found the insurer guilty of deficiency in service for denying her medical claim.
