Women hold 55.8% of Jan Dhan accounts: Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said 57.78 crore accounts have been opened under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana with deposits of ₹2.94 lakh crore. Women hold 55.8% of accounts, while 78% are in rural and semi-urban areas. The scheme supports financial inclusion and welfare delivery through the JAM platform.
