Women prisoners getting pregnant, 196 babies in jail: SC's notice

The Supreme Court took suo motu cognizance of the alarming increase in the number of pregnancies happening within the prisons across the country. This comes after a significant plea was placed before the Calcutta High Court highlighting the women prisoners getting pregnant within the prisons across the state of West Bengal.
