Women to get equal entry, promotion opportunities in Indian Coast Guard under new policy

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled a policy for gender-neutral induction and career progression of officers in Indian Coast Guard. Women can now join through both Short Service Appointments (SSA) and Permanent Appointments (PA) at par with their male counterparts. SSA women officers can convert their service to PA, and PA women officers will be considered for promotion to higher positions.
