Won't have money for contracts if we don't grow faster: CFO as OpenAI misses growth targets

OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar has raised an alarm amongst the startup's leadership after it failed to meet its own targets of user acquisition and sales, WSJ reported. She told other senior executives that the startup may be unable to pay for future computing contracts if revenue doesn't grow fast enough. OpenAI missed many monthly revenue targets in 2026.
