Won't withdraw troops from Lebanon even if US demands: Israel

Israeli forces will not withdraw from southern Lebanon even if there is a demand from the US, Defence Minister Israel Katz said. He added that displaced Lebanese residents "will not return" and cited past experiences of attacks against the soldiers, which have shaped the decision to retain troops. US President Donald Trump has criticised Israel's handling of Hezbollah in Lebanon.
