WordPress-parent Automattic laying off 16% of its workforce

Automattic, a US-based tech company that owns WordPress and Tumblr, announced that it would be cutting 16% of its workforce as a part of its global restructuring exercise. The Automattic layoffs will affect 90 countries where the company operates. Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg said it would help company for its future growth.
