Work on NPR in Tamil Nadu will start in April 2020: CM Palaniswami

Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K Palaniswami has announced that work on National Population Register (NPR) will begin in April 2020 in the state. Palaniswami said that it was just a population census and 34 different types of data will be collected in the first phase. He added that the NPR had no connection with the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
