World leaders gather for COP15 biodiversity summit in Canada

Leaders and officials from 196 countries, including India, gathered in Montreal, Canada on Wednesday to participate in the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15) from December 7-19. In the conference, around 20,000 delegates will negotiate an eight-year plan for preservation and restoration of biodiversity. The landmark agreement is expected to be adopted under the Convention on Biological Diversity.
