The world migrant population has risen to 25.8 crore, an increase of 49% since 2000, according to a UN report on international migration. One in ten of the migrants is a refugee or asylum seeker, with the largest population coming from Asia, the report added. The US hosted the largest share of migrants at nearly 5 crore.
