World no. 1 Sabalenka stops match over strong smell at US Open, says 'Someone is smoking weed'

World number one Aryna Sabalenka briefly halted her US Open third-round match against Kamilla Rakhimova after smelling marijuana at Louis Armstrong Stadium. "Someone is smoking weed, do you mind...because it’s so strong," she told chair umpire Eva Asderaki-Moore. Tournament staff searched the stands but found no smoker. Sabalenka resumed play and won 6-3, 6-4, advancing to the fourth round.
