World record for most fifties by a batsman in Test cricket without a hundred broken

Sri Lanka wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella has set the world record for scoring most fifties in Test cricket without a hundred. In his team's second innings in the first Test against West Indies, the 27-year-old got out for 96, his highest score in Test cricket and his 17th Test fifty. He overtook Chetan Chauhan, who hit 16 fifties and no hundred.
