World record magnetic field 50mn times stronger than Earth's made

University of Tokyo scientists have claimed to record the largest magnetic field ever generated indoors. Measuring 1200 tesla, it is about 400 times higher than those generated by magnets in MRI machines, and about 50 million times stronger than the Earth's own magnetic field, scientists noted. However, stronger magnetic fields have been achieved in outdoor experiments using chemical explosives.
